Top 10 Vacation Pictures

Since so many of you have asked about our vacation, I thought I'd post my TOP 10 favorite pictures. We had an incredible time driving all across SW Colorado and parts of New Mexico.

(Above) One of the rare family pictures with me included!

(Above) I think I'm going to have to frame this one of Bryce fishing. We kept stopping everywhere to fish.  The mountains and ponds look so peaceful and serene.

This was our crazy adventure. I have no idea how I got in the paddling seat (but look at those muscles!) See the kids excited faces in the front with Rob holding them as tight as he can (like that will help). You'll have to look close to see poor Natalie's terrified face next to me in the middle. She screamed everytime the rapids hit our raft.

(Above) We got the potty chair out of the attic for our trip and Natalie really enjoyed re-connecting with it. She kept needing to stop along the highway. I don't know why this is one my top ten favorites - it just makes me smile.

My boys...

(Above) This was at a Frontier Town we visited at the Royal Gorge. They had a whole town set in the 1800's. Natalie was pretending she was in jail in the Sheriff's office. She is quickly becoming a rival with Alyssa for the "Biggest Drama Queen" award. She was surprisingly our best traveler, spending hours playing with her feet as one toe talked back to another toe.

There is just something incredibly handsome about a happy man on a horse! (Thank goodness you can't smell him...)

Baby Allison

Before I share these pictures, I have to share the story behind them. This little baby's family have been clients for awhile, in fact, I shoot her cousins, aunts/uncles, etc. She wasn't due until the end of July, but her baby cousin (Katie - see later post) was due mid-June. Their mamas are sisters and while Katie's mama, Lisa, was two weeks late delivering her, Allison decided to come three weeks early! Both cousins were born just 13 minutes apart doors down from each other at the same hospital. I had the incredible privilege to photograph them both in their first few weeks. Baby Allison was so tiny. She just melted in my arms. I could hold her for hours. She did such a great job during these pictures!

Baby Katie

Baby Katie is the continuation of the Baby Allison story. Katie was actually born 13 minutes before Allison, but she was at least 3 pounds bigger (I can't remember exactly how much more). She is so beautiful too. Her mom and big sister were so excited about a little girl that they painted her nails, bought her bracelets, big bows and girly hats. There is no doubt she is a little girl! I'm sure that Katie will be very spoiled between her brothers and big sister. Katie and Allison really make me want to have another baby. I just need to go over there between 3-4 a.m. to remind me why I'm glad I'm not!

Grayson

For Grayson's 6th birthday, we shot in his incredible backyard "park". What a beautiful location! I can't imagine waking up to that everyday. He reminds me a lot of my 7-year old son. He can talk my ear off! Very charming though. He also has a great "non-smile" smile. I think the girlfriends will be flooding that house very soon.

New little life...

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful little baby. Sweet little Kylie... (though she was nearly 10 pounds when she was born). It has been so long since I have held a beautiful little girl. I love being a part of their first few days! And I really, really love little girls!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Cross! I've enjoyed this little baby over the last 12 months. He has such piercing blue eyes. He sure is a busy little boy though! Good thing he has big sister Tatum to chase him around a bit. He has the nicest parents and I have definitely enjoyed getting to know them better this year. Here are a few of my favorites from this session, and then my favorite from each session over the last year. Hasn't he grown up so much?
